Some time ago I conducted a short interview with one of my former students - Tamas. Tamas is of Hungarian origin, but lives and works in Poland. He mastered the language perfectly, so I wanted to present to you the principles he followed when learning Polish.

I remember when we started Polish lessons together. Tamas immediately knew what his language goal was and why he was learning. He wanted to pass the B2 exam, which he needed to start working for a Polish airline. He only needed 6 months to prepare for the certificate exam and pass it with a very good result (all parts above 90%)!
During our last conversation, I asked him what he thought were the 3 most important things you need to do to reach a higher level of proficiency when learning Polish:

1) A goal that is yours - you need to ask yourself why you want to learn Polish.

Perhaps you plan to stay in Poland longer, find a better job or communicate freely in Polish with your mother-in-law. Any goal is good as long as it is important and dear to you.

2) Start today – there will never be a perfect time.

You know that, right? No time, too warm, too cold, from January, after the holidays, etc. Start now, simply and don't look for excuses!

3) Systematicity.

Let's be honest, reaching a higher level of language knowledge takes time and effort. Meanwhile, people usually have enough motivation for two weeks, sometimes for a month. That's why it's so important to develop the habit of systematic work. And no, you don't have to spend 2 hours a day learning Polish. Start with 20 minutes, but do it regularly - at least 3-4 times a week.
